Membership Levels

The Institute's member levels ensure membership opportunities for insurance professionals from the beginning to the end of their careers.

Student membership

ANZIIF students enrolled in an award course module will automatically be awarded student membership status. Students who successfully obtain a qualification for an award course will receive a free membership upgrade for the rest of the year in which they completed the course. Allied

Allied membership is granted to professionals who work in the insurance industry but do not have an insurance or finance qualification.

Affiliate 

The Affiliate level of membership recognises the levels of education and knowledge that are required and regulated in each area that the Institute operates. In Australia the criteria for entry into the Affiliate level is successful completion of ASIC Compliance (Tier 1 or 2) and in Hong Kong the Insurance Intermediaries Qualifying Examination (IIQE). Affiliates have access to the ANZIIF (Aff) post nominal. 

Associate CIP

Associate Membership is granted to financial services professionals who have completed an insurance or finance qualification equivalent to the ANZIIF Certificate IV level or any other recognised education requirement (AII Life or GI Affiliateship). An associate is a Certified Insurance Professional qualified membership level. Visit the CIP section to learn more about what it means to be a Certified Insurance Professional. Associates may use the post nominal ANZIIF (Assoc) CIP.

Senior Associate CIP 

Senior Associate membership is granted to financial services professionals who have completed an insurance or finance qualification equivalent to the ANZIIF Diploma level. Senior Associate CIP is a Certified Insurance Professional qualified membership level. Visit the CIP section to learn more about what it means to be a Certified Insurance Professional. Senior Associates may use the post nominal ANZIIF (Snr Assoc) CIP.

Fellow CIP 

Fellow is the most prestigious level of membership, awarded to insurance professionals who have completed post-graduate qualifications in financial services and have a strong technical knowledge of, and experience in, the industry. Fellow, or Fellow CIP, is a Certified Insurance Professional qualified membership level. Visit the CIP section to learn more about what it means to be a Certified Insurance Professional. Fellow members may use the post nominal ANZIIF (Fellow) CIP. To become a Fellow, members must meet the set Fellow criteria.
