Scholarships

ANZIIF supports the educational and professional development of its members by partnering with insurance and financial services organisations to offer a number of academic awards and scholarships. 

Each scholarship applicant may also earn six CIP points for their submission, where eligible.

AON BENFIELD SCHOLARSHIP 

Submissions for the Aon Benfield Scholarship have now closed, and will reopen in early 2016.

The Aon Benfield Scholarship is an annual scholarship supported by Aon Benfield and ANZIIF. The award aims to strengthen links between Australian and New Zealand insurance professionals and their international counterparts and to develop the knowledge of the global reinsurance markets among insurance practitioners in Australia and New Zealand. 

The winner’s prize includes funding to attend the annual Aon Benfield Global Clients Reinsurance Seminar in London.

Applications are open to Australian and New Zealand permanent residents or citizens who are currently residing in Australia or New Zealand and have at least two years' experience working in insurance or reinsurance. All full entries are also awarded 6 CIP points for the 2015 calendar year.

PETER CORRIGAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP 

Submissions for the Peter Corrigan Scholarship are closed will reopen in early 2016.

The Peter Corrigan International Scholarship is a bi-annual scholarship supported by Finity Consulting and ANZIIF to honour the contribution Peter Corrigan made to theinsurance industry. The award aims to help insurance professionals to develop their understanding of the international insurance market.

The winner receives AUD$10,000 to attend an international leadership or industry event.

Scholarship applicants must submit a 2,500 word essay from a choice of available essay questions along with required supporting documentation.

The prize is open to insurance professionals who are current financial members of ANZIIF, have at least five years’ experience working in the insurance industry, have permanent residency in Australia, New Zealand or a country in the Asia-Pacific and currently work in the insurance industry (including service provider organisations and relevant university departments).

ANZIIF TURKSLEGAL CLAIMS SCHOLARSHIP

Submissions for the ANZIIF TurksLegal Claims Scholarship are now open and will close on Tuesday 6 October 2015.  

The annual ANZIIF and TurksLegal Claims Scholarship provides a career development opportunity for professionals working in general insurance. 

The Scholarship winner can choose between either of the following prizes:

An international conference package worth $8000, including registration to the 2016 Claims Conference & Insurance Services Expo in Texas, USA, return airfares, accommodation and $500 spending money.

OR

$5000 cash and registration to the 2016 ANZIIF/AICLA Claims Convention in Australia with return flights and accommodation. 

The ANZIIF TurksLegal Claims Scholarship runner-up will be awarded registration to the ANZIIF Claims Convention in Australia and receive return flights and two nights’ accommodation during the event. 

Entrants must be Australian residents, work directly in general insurance and be based in Australia. Entry is not open to lawyers, accountants or medico-legal consultants, employed in capacities other than as direct employees of a general insurance company (this includes reinsurance companies or insurance claims management companies). Entry is not open to members of the ANZIIF Board or ANZIIF employees. 

Entrants must submit an application form together with an essay (2,500 word maximum) answering one of the five questions that appear on the application form.

ICNZ AND ANZIIF SCHOLARSHIP

Submissions for the ICNZ and ANZIIF Scholarship are now open and will close on 5.00pm Auckland time on Friday 30 October 2015

The ICNZ and ANZIIF Scholarship was established to recognise and reward business and leadership potential and to provide an exciting professional development opportunity for young New Zealand insurance professionals.

The objective of the scholarship is to recognise and support the professional growth of developing insurance industry practitioners within New Zealand. Thanks to the ICNZ, $10,000 will be awarded to the scholarship winner, enabling them to attend an international conference or seminar program, providing an excellent insurance industry or leadership-based development opportunity.

The scholarship is open to direct employees of a member of the ICNZ who are residents of New Zealand, under the age of 35 and who currently work in the insurance industry. 

Each applicant must submit a 2,500 word essay along with other supporting documentation. Each Scholarship participant will also earn six (6) CIP points where eligible, for their submission.
